Watson (formerly Bunsen) is a BREW alumnus adopted in xxxx. He has enjoyed the nice, big fenced-in yard and single family house he has called home the past two years, but his family has to move into an apartment next year and that just isn?t Watson?s style.
Watson spent the first two years of his life in a lab, serving as a test subject for canine and human vaccinations. With this unconventional upbringing, Watson struggles a bit with house training and doesn?t like to be left alone. He expresses his loneliness with the well-known Call of the Beagle, a loud baying that can be heard through the walls of a house and down to the end of the driveway. As apartment and townhouse neighbors might not appreciate his sonorous voice, a single family home would likely be the best environment for him.
Growing up in a lab full of other beagles with frequent interaction with lab technicians, Watson is a social soul who would probably do best in a home with another dog or family members who are present most of the day. He gets along well with his young human siblings, but he can be overly enthusiastic about sharing their food and might behave better with older children. Watson loves and charms everyone he meets, and he?ll be sure to let you know when a new friend is at the door.
Watson is crate trained and can go through the day with no accidents, but once free of his crate he sometimes forgets that the great outdoors is where he should do his business rather than the house. He isn?t fond of doing his business on leash, preferring to go in the backyard. A family with experience training/re-training beagles may help him overcome these habits with patience.
Overall, Watson is a healthy, happy four-year-old who occasionally enjoys bursts of joyful running around the house or yard but mostly just loves to cuddle up with his family on the couch or lie in the sun.
